Did you know that men can get breast cancer too? Although relatively rare, men are not immune to this disease. The female ratio to men is about 100:1, but males in the ages of 60-70 are at higher risk. Other risk factors for men include: radiation exposure(ie. radiation treatment for cancer treatment), family history in either male or female, chronic liver disorders, or certain genetic conditions(ie. Klinefelter's Syndrome). What to look for? Any lumps in your chest, change in nipple or breast skin, fluid discharge from the nipple Diagnosis is made similar to women-medical history, breast examination, mammogram and biopsy. Treatments for men are also the same for women. Many men do not realize that they can develop breast cancer. If you have any concerns or other questions, don't hesitate contacting your own physician .
